A purpose-built cold plunge holds recovery-range temperature on a July afternoon, filters and sanitizes its own water, and keeps an insulated cover over it all. Chiller, filtration, and an insulated cedar or composite shell: that is the difference between a plunge and a trough of ice.

We set it on a proper pad with power and drainage, beside the sauna if you have one, so the hot-cold circuit is a barefoot loop instead of a project.
