Crew spraying gunite over the steel cage of a freeform pool with spa and rock slide in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE GUNITE POOL BUILDER

Your Backyard Lagoon,
Sculpted in Concrete

Backyard Resort Pools is a custom gunite pool builder serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee. We design and build in-ground gunite swimming pools, spas, and complete backyard resorts, with fifty years of concrete pool construction behind the shells we spray.

Founder Ernie Nagy is the licensed pool builder who set that standard, and his crew still pours each pool like it has to outlast the deed.

THE GOLD STANDARD

Why Nashville Families Choose Us for Concrete

Gunite is concrete sprayed over a steel rebar cage, so your swimming pool is sculpted on site instead of arriving on a truck. That is what makes it the gold standard for custom swimming pools: any shape, any depth, any feature you can sketch on a napkin. Our company has spent five decades perfecting concrete pool construction across Middle Tennessee, and gunite is still the material our pool builders reach for when a family wants a true backyard resort instead of a bathtub in the grass. Our pools are made for Tennessee and made to be swum in, hard, for a lifetime.

What Only a Custom Concrete Shell Can Give You

Any Shape You Can Design

Freeform lagoon designs, sharp geometric lines, beach entries, swim-up bars. A gunite pool has no mold and no limits, so the design starts with your yard, not a catalog.

Strength That Holds Its Line for Generations

Steel reinforcement and a sprayed concrete structure stand up to decades of cannonballs, weather, and ground movement. This is the pool your grandkids inherit, built once and built right.

Value That Stays in the House

A concrete pool with quality finishes adds resale appeal the day we complete the fill, and buyers pay more for a pool that will never need replacing.

No Surprise Fees, Ever

Your itemized quote comes before you sign, and the number we give you is the number you pay. Fifty years in this trade, zero hidden line items.

Our Process for Building Your New Pool, First Sketch to First Swim

1

Walk the yard.

Schedule a free consultation and we will visit your property, listen, and hand-sketch a pool design with an itemized quote and a realistic schedule. The design process starts free.

2

Excavate and prep.

Proper digging, grading, compaction, and drainage, because the best shell on bad ground is still a bad pool. Site prep is where quality pools are won.

3

Steel and plumbing.

Our team ties the rebar cage to spec and pressure-tests all plumbing lines before backfill.

4

Spray the shell.

Highly trained nozzlemen apply the mix under pressure, then shape and cure the concrete shell of the pool.

5

Tile, plaster, fill.

Waterline tile, your choice of plaster or pebble finish, equipment startup, and the first swim in your new pool.

Tighter budgets

Concrete is not the right answer for all yards, and we will say so at your consultation. If you want to swim in six weeks or your budget stops short of a concrete build, we offer fiberglass pool installation and custom vinyl pools as the honest path, designed and built by the same team to the same quality standard. Both options use proven materials, and both come with the same service after the fill.

BUILT FOR HERE

Concrete Engineered for Tennessee Clay and Freeze‑Thaw

Middle Tennessee sits on heavy clay that swells in the wet and shrinks in drought, and our winters cycle through freeze and thaw. That movement cracks rushed work. So each pool project starts with compaction and drainage that carry water away from the pool, steel placed for our soil, and finishes rated for frost. We also pull your Metro or county permits and coordinate each inspection, so the paperwork loop never lands on you.

STRAIGHT NUMBERS

What a Gunite Pool Costs in Nashville

The real numbers.

Plunge pools begin around $42,000, and most complete gunite pools land at $80,000 and up once typical features are included. Attached spas, tanning ledges, waterfalls, and pebble finishes each move the number, and site conditions like slopes or tree work matter too.

Why we quote in person.

No pool company can price concrete work honestly without walking the property, and any company that offers to is guessing with your money. What we offer instead is a single itemized estimate after your consultation, with all lines explained, before any contract is signed.

Features We Sculpt Into the Shell

Attached spas
Tanning ledges
Waterfalls and jets
Infinity edges
Grottos
LED lighting

We offer each of these on any build we take, and we offer honest advice on which ones your yard can carry. Because gunite is formed in place, these features are not bolt-ons. They are designed and poured into the structure of the pool itself, the whole resort, not just the lagoon.

MEET THE POOL KAHUNA

“I check every job at every phase and answer my own phone, so what you imagined is exactly what you get.”

One crew handles the whole gunite pool project, design through the final fill, not a parade of subcontractors, and our founder inspects each phase of construction in person and stays a phone call away between visits. Ask him why we pressure-test plumbing before backfill and he will tell you about a pool he watched get dug back up decades ago over one joint nobody tested. He has tested each line since.

WHAT CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
★★★★★
“Our backyard was just wasted grass for years. They designed a concrete pool that fit the space perfectly and gave us a spot the whole family actually uses. Honest timeline, fair bid, clean site every afternoon.”
RAY CARMONA · GOOGLE REVIEW
“We wanted a pool that matched the patio we’d just put in. They brought material samples, walked us through the equipment options, and the finished pool looks like it belongs there. The craftsmanship shows in every detail.”
EMILY · GOOGLE REVIEW

Reviews like these are why most of our company’s work comes from referrals, and why our pool company keeps its schedule light, and why the service does not stop when the pool is complete. We take on a few pools at a time and build them right, and our customers highly recommend the experience to their neighbors.
